Re:     Meth Lab Arrests

Batavia Township, Clermont County OH - On Thursday morning, March 6th, after a three month long investigation, the Clermont County Narcotics Unit and members of the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (SRT) simultaneously executed two search warrants in the Greenbriar Mobile Home Park, Old State Route 32 in Batavia Township.

In one of the residences, agents found all components of a “red phosphorus lab” including paint thinner, flares, alcohol, pseudoephedrine, mason jars, coffee filters, and other paraphernalia associated with the production and distribution of methamphetamine. The second residence contained byproducts from the manufacturing process as well as additional chemicals. While almost all of the methamphetamine labs previously seized in Clermont County have used the anhydrous ammonia method, the occupants of both residences were working together to manufacture methamphetamine using the red phosphorus method.  In addition to the foregoing materials approximately 4 - 5 grams with a street value of approximately $500 in manufactured Meth was recovered from the residence.  The red phosphorus method of Meth manufacturing is a serious concern for law enforcement because of its explosive potential.  According to Chief Deputy Rick Combs the investigation into this matter is on going and no injuries or incidents were reported during this morning’s operation.

Serena Potrafke, D.O.B. 10/04/88, and William T. Scro 12/18/71 of 237 Sweetbriar Drive, Batavia, OH 45103 were arrested and charged with Illegal Manufacture of Drugs, 2925.04.  Scro is also being held on a parole violation. Both are confined in the Clermont County Jail. Photographs can be obtained by contacting Mary Gregory at (513)732-7405.
