Re: Drug Investigation Indictments

The Clermont County Narcotics Unit presented evidence on April 5, 2006 to the Clermont County Grand Jury involving a lengthy investigation into drug activity at a Union Township business. The investigation was based on tips and complaints received by the Union Township Police and forwarded to the Narcotics Unit for further investigation. The information involved reported illegal drug activity by patrons and employees of Fritter’s Show Bar Aka: McCarthy’s Ale, Aka: Doc’s Place located at 469 Old SR 74, Cincinnati, Ohio 45244.

Following up on the information, Narcotics Unit undercover officers conducted covert operations at the establishment that ultimately led to the Grand Jury hearing yesterday and the return of Secret Indictments against several subjects for multiple offenses for the sale of Marijuana, Cocaine, Crack, Methamphetamine, Percocet, Hydrocodone, Klonopin and Vicodin with an approximate street value of $10,000.  In addition, during the investigation undercover officers discovered liquor violations which were referred to the Ohio Department of Public Safety/Investigative Unit which cited the establishment for violations.  The names and charges of those indicted cannot be released until the subjects are arrested, appear in court, and their indictments are opened and read. Thereafter, the names of the subjects and their charges may be released by the Clermont County Prosecutor.   Mr. White or his Chief Assistant Daniel “Woody”  Breyer can be contacted at 732-7313 for further information. The investigation is continuing with the possibility of further law enforcement action.

The Clermont County Narcotics Unit is under the direction and supervision of the Clermont County Sheriff and is comprised of officers from: Clermont County Sheriff’s Office, Union and Miami Township Police Departments, and the City of Milford Police Department.
