Chief Deputy Rick Combs
Chief Deputy of Criminal Operations, Rick W. Combs began his law enforcement career as a corrections officer, then road patrol deputy with the Clermont County Sheriff's Office in 1976. From 1980 to 1991 he served with the Milford, Ohio Police Department as a patrol officer, patrol supervisor, detective, specialist and administrative lieutenant. While administrative lieutenant, Rick Combs was responsible for gaining national accreditation for the Milford Police Department; at that time the smallest accredited agency in the nation. In 1991 he became Chief of Police for the Village of Glendale, where he served until October 1997, then became Chief Deputy of Criminal Operations for the Clermont County Sheriff's Office. Chief Combs has attended the University of Cincinnati and completed many professional development courses including the Model-Netics Management course, and is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command. He is a state certified law enforcement instructor, and has taught law enforcement supervision courses in several area academies Chief Combs is active in his community; serving as board member on behalf of several community organizations. Chief Combs and his wife have three daughters.
