Wayne Township, Clermont County, Ohio-
On October 31, 2009 at approximately 6:02 a.m., the Clermont County Communications Center received a 911 call from Nicholas Fey 6718 Garrison Spurling Road, in Wayne Township, Clermont County.
Chief Deputy Rick W. Combs said, “The caller was awakened by gunfire and discovered that a bedroom window had been shot out. Eight persons were asleep in the home when the incident occurred, however no injuries were sustained. The Criminal Investigative Section and Crime Scene personnel processed the scene and adjacent areas discovering evidence of two separate addresses receiving damage due to recent gunfire.”
As the result of a lengthy investigation, Adam May, male/white, age 24, formerly of Wayne Township, was found to be responsible for discharging the firearm described as an SKS assault rifle. Investigators determined that this was a deliberate act of retaliation that stemmed from a prior incident.
Charges of improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation were filed, a felony of the second degree. Adam May is awaiting trial for a charge of trafficking in drugs from a previous incident in Clinton County, Ohio, Combs reported.
On November 24, 2009, Adam May turned himself in to Sheriff’s deputies at the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office and is currently a resident of the Clermont County Jail. Further charges related to this investigation are being considered. A photograph of Adam May is attached.
