Franklin Township, Clermont County, Ohio-
Sheriff Rodenberg reports, “On December 7, 2009, information was obtained by our office involving a local youth minister and the possible inappropriate contact between himself and a fifteen year-old female. Our Criminal Investigative Section followed up, and uncovered evidence to substantiate a criminal charge.”
The subject had been a youth pastor at the Saltair Church of Christ, located between Bethel and Felicity on State Route # 222, since November of 2007. “A sexual relationship began with a female teenager in mid-July and continued until authorities were notified.” said Rick W. Combs, Chief Deputy. “The suspect responded to the Sheriff’s Office for questioning and was co-operative with investigators” Combs said. “Due to the nature of the case and age of the victim she will not be identified by name,” Combs said.
Christopher E. Evans, W/M 39 years of age, whose last known address is 3240 Pitzer Road, Bethel, Ohio was arrested today and is currently in the Clermont County Jail on charges of Sexual Battery, a third degree felony. “Although he is presently being held for one charge, this case will be presented to the Grand Jury and they may consider additional charges,” said Rodenberg. “There is no indication at this time that any of this took place at the church, or during church activities. All information at this point indicates that the conduct took place at the subject’s home on Pitzer Road. No other victims have been identified or are known to us at this time” Combs said.
