Captain Steve Leahy
Steve Leahy began his career in law enforcement in 1991 as a road patrol deputy, eventually moving to a position as an investigator. In 1996 he was promoted to the rank of sergeant in the road patrol. Since that time he has served as the court services commander, investigative sergeant, and investigative lieutenant. In 2013 he was promoted to the rank of captain.
Captain Leahy graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor's Degree in Police Administration. After several years as a deputy, he continued his education and graduated from the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command and the Model-Netics Management course at the University of Cincinnati. Steve is a member of the Sheriff's Office honor guard, and is the lead hostage negotiator for the Special Response Team.
