Amelia man arrested and charged with Felonious assault after a shooting which stemmed from a verbal dispute
in Monroe Township, Clermont County Ohio.
On July 22, 2022, at 11:32am, The Clermont County Communications Center received a 911 call from a resident in the 2200 block of SR 125, Monroe Township, reporting a shooting incident at her residence. Caller reported that a male subject who “stays” at their residence was outside shooting at a second male. Deputies from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene at 11:40am and discovered a male with a gunshot wound to his chest and were told that the suspect had fled the scene in a vehicle. A vehicle description was obtained by deputies on the scene and broadcasted countywide by dispatch.
Monroe Township EMS respond to the scene at 11:51am and requested AirCare for the shooting victim, who was identified as George Johnson, age 56.
Johnson was transported via AirCare to University Hospital 12:26pm, where he was taken into surgery with what is described by medial staff as “life-threatening injuries.”
Sheriff’s Office Detectives and Crime Scene Unit responded to process the scene and interview witnesses to the shooting.
At 11:52am, Pierce Twp. Police Department stopped the suspect vehicle at the intersection of Amelia Olive Branch Rd and Old SR 74 in Batavia Twp. The suspect was alone at the time of the traffic stop and was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was transported to the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office where he was positively identified as Shamek Shron Berry, age 32.
Berry was charged with one count of Felonious assault, a felony of the second degree.
Berry is currently being held in the Clermont County Jail without bond and will appear for his arraignment in Clermont County Municipal Court, Monday July 25th, 2022 at 10am.
This investigation remains ongoing and will be reviewed in its entirety with the Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office for presentation to the Grand Jury.
Shamek Shron Berry, age 32

On 7-14-22 at 1:56am, the Clermont County Communications Center received a 911 call from a resident in the Richmond Estates Mobile Home Park, 2755 SR 132, New Richmond Ohio, who reported hearing gunshots in the area. The caller further advised dispatch that she noticed the neighbor’s lights on, her son walked to the neighbors where he discovered two males inside of the residence. Pierce Township EMS and deputies from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and located two male subjects inside of lot 207 deceased. Detectives and the Crime Scene Unit from the Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and met with the Clermont County Coroner’s Office, who pronounced both of the male subjects dead at 4:16am.
The cause of death is unknown at this time. The deceased will be transported to the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.
The identification(s) of the deceased have not been confirmed.
This investigation is ongoing at this time and additional details will be provide as they become available.
Update: The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office identifies the two deceased individuals from Richmond Estates Mobile Home Park
The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office has identified the two deceased located at 2755 SR 132, lot 207, New Richmond OH, 45157 as follows:
Detectives from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office, have charged Dakota Pfeiffer, age 20, with one count of Tampering with Evidence, a felony of the third degree related to this ongoing investigation.
Pfeiffer was taken into custody without incident.
Pfeiffer appearred for his arraignment at the Clermont County Municipal Court on July 15th 2022 and received a $75,000.00 bond.
Pfeiffer will appear for his preliminary hearing in Municipal Court on July 25th, 2022 at 1pm in front of Judge Nagel.

On July 7, 2022 at 2:08 P.M. the Clermont County Communications Center received a 911 call from Jaime Fields, who advised her boyfriend Kristopher Holt had been stabbed in the back, arm and leg by his brother Larry Noble. The incident occurred at the family’s residence on Hazel Ally, in the Village of Moscow. Road Patrol deputies from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene, located the assailant Larry Noble, who was applying pressure to his brothers wounds. Noble’s immediate statement to deputies was that he did not mean to stab his brother.
Deputies requested Washington Township EMS responded to the scene to render medical attention. Once EMS assessed the injuries sustained during the attack, Air Care was requested to respond.
At 2:53 P.M. Holt was transported via Air Care to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for further treatment. Holt was coherent and responsive, however refused to make any statements to deputies at the scene.
Sheriff’s Office Detectives and Crime Scene Unit responded to interview witnesses and process the scene. Detectives interviewed Noble on scene and obtained a confession to the assault. Noble says he got into an argument with Holt over parenting his children. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence on Hazel Ally and recovered the knife used in the assault.
As of 6:00 P.M, Holt remains in stable condition at University Medical Center
Larry Shane Noble has been charged with one count of Felonious Assault, a felony of the second degree, and transported to the Clermont County Jail where he is currently being held without bond. Noble will appear for his bond hearing at 10:00 A.M. on July 8, 2022 at Clermont Municipal Court.

On March 17, 2022 at approximately 10:00am administrators from the West Clermont Middle School, located at 1341 Clough Pike, Batavia Ohio 45103, were advised that a seventh grade student made a threat to bring a gun and shoot up the school. School administrators contacted the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer (SRO) who is assigned to the West Clermont Middle School. Within minutes, the School Resource Officer, along with school administrators, removed the student from class. The student’s property and locker were searched and no firearms were located. The student’s parents were notified by school administrators of what their child had communicated.
The Clermont County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer conducted a complete investigation, which included an interview with the seventh grade student. During the interview, the student admitted to the staff and the SRO, that she did in fact make the threat.
The female student, age 12, was removed from the school and released to her parents. The School Resource Officer and West Clermont Staff confirmed the student did not have access to means to access any firearms.
This investigation was reviewed with the Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office and it was determined that one count of Inducing Panic (M-1) would be filed through Juvenile Court.

Kentucky man arrested for shooting and killing roommate during an altercation in Wayne Township, Clermont County Ohio
On 3/03/2022 at 2:11 pm, the Clermont County Communication Center received a 911 call reporting a male at 6181 Marathon Edenton Rd. Wayne Township, had been shot. Road Patrol Deputies from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene at 2:23 pm and located the victim, later identified as Dustin Carson, age 46, from Kentucky, lying unresponsive in the driveway of the residence. Wayne Township Fire/EMS responded to the scene, however the victim had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detectives and the Crime Scene Unit from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene for further investigation. The roommate of the deceased, Daniel Underwood, was located at the scene and was identified as the person who called 911. Underwood was cooperative with detectives and forthcoming with details about the altercation which occurred at the property.
Underwood was transported to the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Unit where he was interviewed by a detective. Underwood explained that he was involved in a verbal dispute with the Carson, and confessed to shooting Carson during the dispute.
The Clermont County Coroner’s Office responded and transported the body of Dustin Carson to the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.
Daniel Underwood, age 50, has been arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated Murder, a felony of the first degree. He is currently being held in the Clermont County Jail without bond.
Underwood is scheduled to appear at Clermont County Municipal Court on Friday March 4, 2022 at 10:00 am for his arraignment.
This investigation remains ongoing and will be reviewed in its entirety with the Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office for presentation to the Grand Jury for consideration of additional charges.

On February 8th, 2022, at approximately 1200pm, administrators from New Richmond High School, located at 1131 Bethel New Richmond Rd. New Richmond Ohio, were advised by an anonymous tip that a 15 year old male, a 9th grade student, stated he was going to cause harm to another student with a lighter. Within minutes, the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer (SRO), along with school administrators, removed the student from class. The student’s locker was searched and two lighters were located.
The Clermont County Sheriff’s Office SRO conducted a complete investigation, which included an interview with the 9th grade student who made the verbal threats. During the interview, the student admitted to the staff and the SRO, that he did in fact threaten to harm another student.
The student in question was removed from the school property, released to his parents and has been placed on suspension pending further disciplinary processes.
On February 9, 2022, this investigation was reviewed in its entirety with the Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office and the male student has been charged with one count of Aggravated Menacing, a Misdemeanor of the first degree, and one count of Inducing Panic, a Felony second degree.
No students were injured during this incident.

Based on improving road conditions across the entire county and after consultation with my command staff, County Engineer, and other public safety entities, Clermont County is now at a Level 1 Snow Emergency.
LEVEL 1: Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be icy. Motorists are urged to drive very cautiously.

On September 29th, 2021, at approximately 12:50pm, administrators from New Richmond High School, located at 1131 Bethel New Richmond Rd., New Richmond Ohio, were advised by several students that a 9th grade student claimed that he had a gun in his back pack.
Within 3 minutes of the initial report, The Clermont County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer (SRO), along with school administrators, identified and removed the student from class. The student’s personal property and locker were searched and no weapon was located. The Sheriff’s SRO spoke with the student in question who admitted that he had told classmates that he had a weapon. The student added “it was a joke” and that he did not have access to any weapons.
The male student, age 14, has been charged with one count of Disorderly Conduct, a misdemeanor of the fourth degree. The student was removed from the school and released to his parents, who confirmed that their son did not have access to any firearms.
