On Sunday, October 20, at 12:10 pm, the Clermont County Communications Center received a 911 call reporting that a man was stuck by a falling tree limb while operating machinery near the 900 block of Hopewell Rd. in Franklin Township.
Sheriff’s deputies and Felicity EMS responded to the scene. Two men were clearing trees away from a field when a male identified as 50-year-old Matthew Crozier was accidentally hit by a falling limb as he was pushing the tree with a tractor.
Efforts to resuscitate Mr. Crozier were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:16 pm by Clermont County Coroner Brian Treon.
The Clermont County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Unit responded to the scene to investigate and interview witnesses. There is no foul play suspected, incident is considered to be accidental. The body of Matthew Crozier was released to the McIntyre Funeral Home.
