On 10/16/22, the Clermont County Communications Center received a call from a concerned parent in reference to a Clermont Northeastern Middle School student, age 11, who allegedly had a list of people titled “people who make me mad” and told a number of students that he had a gun. The reporting parent learned of this from her 11 year old son while they were at a birthday party with friends. The parent added this information was not first hand information at the time she was reporting it.

The Sheriff’s Office has thoroughly investigated this complainant. Deputies have spoken with the Middle School student’s parents who were previously made aware of the allegation by Middle School Staff on Friday 10/14/22. During the investigation, it was confirmed the student had no weapons or access to any weapons.

This incident was reviewed with the Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office who concurred that the threat was unsubstantiated.

No charges filed in this case.
