On September 27th, 2022, at approximately 1100am, a middle school student reported to administrators at New Richmond Middle School, located at 1141 Bethel New Richmond Rd., that a 7th grade student possibly had a gun in his backpack.  The school administrators located the student’s backpack in his locker and searched the student’s backpack.  Administrators located a BB gun pistol and contacted the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer who responded to the Middle School.  The School Resource Officer made contact with the 7th grade student and conducted an interview.  During the interview, the student confessed to bringing the BB gun to school.

The student stated that he had no intensions of harming anyone and no threats were made.

The male student, age 14, is being charged with one count of Illegal Conveyance a Misdemeanor of the first degree. The student in question was removed from the school and released to his parents.
