Wayne Township Man Indicted for Possession of Child Pornography
Alexander Scott MacGregor, age 23, of Wayne Township was indicted Thursday, September 8, 2022 by the Clermont County Grand Jury who returned an Indictment for(45) counts of Pandering Sexually Oriented Material Involving a Minor, all felonies of the 2nd degree.
On Friday, June 24, 2022, Detectives from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office, received a Cyber Tip generated by Internet Crimes against Children (ICAC) and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), involving an address in the 2800 block of US Route 50, Jackson Township, Clermont County, where child pornography was uploaded.
Further investigation into the Cyber Tip revealed MacGregor as the sole person responsible. MacGregor does not reside at the associated address and was said to be staying with a family member at the time the offenses were committed.
MacGregor was cooperative with detectives, admitting he acted alone in uploading the child pornography. MacGregor turned his cellular device over to detectives, which was believed to be the only electronic device used in these offenses.
A subsequent search of the cellular phone produced several videos and pictures depicting prepubescent children involved in various sexual acts. This investigation remains ongoing as Detectives continue to work with NCMEC and ICAC in an effort to determine the identities of any victim(s) and/or perpetrator(s) shown in the seized material.
MacGregor is currently incarcerated in the Clermont County Jail will out bond, and will appear before Clermont County Pleas Judge Kevin Miles, on September 9, 2022 at 10am for his arraignment.
