On July 23rd, 2026, the Clermont County Grand
Jury indicted Nathaniel Lee for the following charge:
(1) count of Felonious Assault,
a felony of the 2nd degree
Lee is scheduled to appear for an arraignment on July
24th, 2026, at 08:30 a.m., in front of Clermont County Common
Pleas Judge Jason Nagel. Lee has remained incarcerated inside the
Clermont County Jail on a $1,000,000 bond and is now being held without
bond.
Nathaniel Lee, 37, of Batavia Township, has been charged
with Felonious Assault, a felony of the second degree, and Endangering
Children, a misdemeanor of the first degree, stemming from a shooting
incident that occurred on July 16th , 2026, in the 100 block of
Sweetbriar Drive of Batavia Township.
On July 16th , 2026, at 11:05 p.m.
deputies with the Clermont County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 100
block of Sweetbriar Drive in Batavia Township for a reported shooting.
The 911 caller told the Clermont County Communications Center a 40-year-old
male had been shot and that the suspect had fled the scene.
Upon arrival, deputies located the victim suffering
from a gunshot wound to the left leg. The victim was transported to Clermont
Mercy Hospital by Central Joint Fire and EMS for treatment of a non-life
threating injury.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office were called to
the scene and immediately began investigating the incident. After review of
surveillance video from the area, and witness statements, Detectives identified the suspect as Nathaniel Lee. Surveillance video also showed
the suspect vehicle, a white Honda Accord being driven during the incident. A
witness observed the vehicle leave the scene and travel directly to a residence
in the 300 block of Shannon Circle.
A perimeter was established around the residence on
Shannon Circle while the Clermont County Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.)
Team was requested to respond. Before the S.W.A.T. Team arrived, the occupants
began exiting the residence. Lee was identified and taken into custody without
incident.
Lee provided a statement to detectives regarding the
incident. During the interview, Lee stated he confronted the victim over
comments the victim had allegedly made to a family member. Lee claimed that
during the confrontation, the victim reached into the vehicle, causing his
.38-caliber handgun to fall and discharge. Lee also admitted he was carrying a
.308-caliber rifle during the confrontation.
Lee is currently incarcerated in the Clermont
County Jail without bond. Lee is scheduled to appear for a bond hearing on July
17th, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Clermont County Municipal Court
house.
