On August 27th, 2026, at approximately 5:54 p.m.,
the Clermont County Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting
a disorder in the 200 block of Wooded Ridge Drive in Batavia Township, Clermont
County. Additional 911 callers then reported that a male had been struck by a
vehicle.
Deputies arrived on scene at approximately 6:05 p.m. and
located an adult male who had been struck by a vehicle driven by Jason
Chadwick, 48, of Pierce Township.
Detectives from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office
immediately responded to the scene and began investigating the incident.
Detectives learned that the incident stemmed from an earlier
confrontation, which occurred just minutes before, involving the injured male
and an adult female.
Chadwick, who was known to the female involved in the
initial confrontation, arrived at the scene following the incident. Detectives
determined that Chadwick intentionally drove off the roadway, striking the male
victim with his vehicle.
The injured male was transported by the Central Joint
Fire-EMS District to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he
remains in stable condition.
Detectives obtained statements from multiple witnesses and
reviewed video evidence related to the incident. Chadwick also provided a
statement to detectives and admitted to striking the male victim with his
vehicle.
Deputies took Chadwick into custody without incident and
transported him to the Clermont County Jail where he was charged with
(1) Count of Felonious Assault, a felony of the 2nd degree
Chadwick appeared at the Clermont County Municipal Court
on Friday August 28th, 2026, at 10:00 am before
Magistrate Jessica Little for his bond hearing and received a one million cash
or surety bond.
Chadwick is scheduled to appear on Tuesday September
8th, 2026, at 1:00pm for a preliminary hearing in front of Judge
Nathan Little at the Clermont County Municipal Court.
The investigation remains ongoing. Detectives will review
