SWAT team activated for Road Rage incident in Batavia Township
On August 21st, 2026, at approximately 3:30 am, deputies from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a road rage incident with several shots fired at a vehicle in the 100 block of Judd Road of Batavia Township.
The caller reported he was driving on Clough Pike near Amelia Olive Branch Road when an unknown color BMW flashed their headlights at him. The driver reportedly believed this was someone he knew so he followed the BMW to an address on Breckenridge Way in Batavia Township. Upon arrival at a residence on Breckenridge Way, the caller and his occupants reported the driver of the BMW brandished a firearm, so they fled. The suspect followed the caller and fired several shots at the vehicle while traveling on Judd Road.
Deputies contacted the caller and confirmed a single gunshot strike to the trunk area of the vehicle. Neither the caller nor his occupants were injured.
Deputies returned to the Breckenridge Way address where they located the suspect vehicle concealed behind the residence. Efforts to contact the suspect were unsuccessful as no one would respond to the door. A perimeter was established by responding deputies and the SWAT team was requested due to the serious nature of the incident.
Within minutes of the SWAT team’s arrival and establishing communication, the occupants of the residence exited and were detained without incident. This investigation remains ongoing.
Additional details will be provided as they develop.
