Union Township man indicted following a Wayne Township Burglary Incident

On May 26th, 2026, the Clermont County Grand Jury returned an indictment for Brandon Rorick on the following charges:

(1) count of Aggravated Burglary, a felony of the 1st degree

(1) count of Burglary, a felony of the 2nd degree

On May 17th, 2026, at approximately 4:04 a.m., the Clermont County Communications Center received a 911 call from a female requesting assistance at a residence in the 2800 block of Bigam Road in Wayne Township, Clermont County.  During the call, it was reported that a male was attempting to force entry into a bedroom where another male, a female, and children had locked themselves inside.  While the incident was initially dispatched as a domestic-related call, responding personnel later learned that a male involved had been stabbed.

Deputies with the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene at 4:13 a.m.  Deputies located a 30-year-old male, identified as Brandon Rorick, in the driveway of the residence suffering from injuries to his face, arm, and abdomen consistent with an edged weapon.

Wayne Township EMS arrived on scene at approximately 4:20 a.m. and began treatment on the male before transporting him to Bethesda North Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Clermont County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Unit was requested to conduct further investigation.  Detectives responded to both the hospital and the residence to interview involved parties, identify witnesses, and process the scene.

Detectives determined that Rorick arrived at the residence and entered without permission, causing the occupants to retreat to a bedroom to hide for their safety.  According to statements, Rorick began kicking the bedroom door and ultimately forced entry into the room.  During the ensuing confrontation, the homeowner used a knife to fend off Rorick’s attack.

Following the altercation, Rorick exited the residence and remained outside until deputies arrived.  Rorick was cooperative with detectives and provided a statement regarding the incident.  Based on the information obtained during the initial investigation, Rorick was charged with: (1) count of Aggravated Burglary, a felony of the 1st degree.

On May 19th, 2026, Rorick was taken into custody by the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office after being medically cleared and released from the hospital.  On May 20th, 2026, Rorick appeared for a bond hearing at the Clermont County Municipal Court in front of Judge Katherine Terpstra.  Rorick’s bond was set at $250,000 cash or surety.

Rorick has remained incarcerated in the Clermont County Jail since May 19th and now has no bond on the new indictment.

He is scheduled to appear for arraignment on May 27th, 2026, at 10am at the Clermont County Common Pleas Court in front of Judge Anthony Brock.

Any additional inquiries related to this incident should be directed to the Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office at 513-732-7313.
