Curtis Johnson turned himself into the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday- March 23, 2025, at 6:55 pm. Johnson was represented by Legal Counsel and declined to provide a statement to detectives. He was transported to the Clermont County Jail, where he is currently incarcerated without bond.
Johnson will be arraigned Monday, March 24, 2025, at 10 am at the Clermont County Municipal Courthouse.
On March 22nd, 2025, at 3:16 pm, the Clermont County Communications Center received a 911 call from a female reporting a shooting incident at a residence in the 2700 block of Crane Schoolhouse Road in Tate Township. The caller told dispatchers that a male had just shot another male in the foot and fled the residence in a vehicle. A vehicle description was obtained and broadcasted countywide.
Deputies from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office immediately responded and arrived on the scene at 3:21 pm. Bethel-Tate EMS also responded and arrived at 3:26 pm. The victim was identified as a male white, 39 years of age. It was discovered the victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the right foot which was deemed non-life threatening. The victim told deputies on scene a known male was the person responsible for shooting him and identified him as Curtis Johnson, age 35 of Monroe Township, Clermont County. Bethel-Tate Fire and EMS ground transported the victim to University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he is currently being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
While additional Clermont County deputies were responding to the scene, the suspect's vehicle was located at a residence in the 2900 block of Fair Oak Road in Monroe Township. After initial attempts to make contact were unsuccessful, the Special Response Team was dispatched at 5:40 pm to search the residence. The Sheriff's Office Drone Unit also responded to the area and conducted an aerial search in the area.
Additional Sheriff’s Office Detectives and the Crime Scene Unit responded to process the scenes and interview witnesses.
The Special Response Team searched the residence and Johnson was not located within.
After conducting interviews and collecting all evidence the Prosecutor’s Office was consulted and it was determined that Johnson would be charged with one count of:
Felonious Assault, a felony of the 2nd degree.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Curtis Johnson, who remains at large at this time. His whereabouts are currently unknown. This investigation will be reviewed in its entirety with the Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office for presentation to the Grand Jury for consideration of additional charges.
