Noah McDowell, age 21 of Batavia Township, was indicted on July 8^th, 2025, by the Clermont County Grand Jury on the following charges:

(2) counts of Felonious Assault, felonies of the 2^nd degree

(1) count of Strangulation, a felony of the 5^th degree

(1) count of Assault, a misdemeanor of the 1^st degree

(1) count of Domestic Violence, a misdemeanor of the 1^st degree

On June 26^th, 2025, at 7:47 p.m., deputies from the Clermont County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 200 block of Sherwood Court in the Greenbriar Mobile Home Park, Batavia Township, Clermont County. The 911 caller reported that his stepson had attempted to attack him with a knife. The caller stated that he and another family member had barricaded themselves in a bedroom while McDowell stood on the other side of the door, attempting to stab his way inside. During the call, screaming could be heard in the background.

Deputies arrive on the scene at 7:52 p.m., safely removed all occupants from the residence, and took McDowell into custody after he exited the home unharmed. Through interviews, deputies determined that an argument over money escalated, leading McDowell to physically assault and choke the victim with both hands. Another family member intervened, separating the parties, at which point McDowell retrieved a knife.

McDowell was treated on scene by Central Joint Fire and EMS for self-inflicted wounds and transported to Clermont Mercy Hospital. Once medically cleared, he was booked into the Clermont Count Jail on charges of Domestic Violence and Strangulation, where he remained in custody on a $20,000 cash or surety bond.

McDowell is now being held without bond and is scheduled to appear before Clermont County Common Pleas Judge Kevin Miles on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 10 am for an arraignment on the indicted charges listed above.
