Joseph Wiederhold, age 60, of Jackson Township, Clermont County was indicted by the Clermont County Grand Jury on Tuesday, August 26th, 2025 for the following:
(24) counts of Pandering Obscenity Involving a Minor or Impaired Person, all felonies of the second degree
On Tuesday, May 20th, 2025, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) forwarded a Cyber Tip to the Clermont County Sheriff's Office. The tip indicated that child sexual abuse material (CSAM) was being downloaded to an account from an address in the 5000 block of Jackson Township, Clermont County.
Sheriff's Office detectives initiated an investigation and subsequently executed a search warrant at the residence, belonging to Joseph Wiederhold. During the search, detectives seized several electronic devices. Subsequent search warrants were executed to forensically analyze the seized electronics with the assistance of the Hamilton County Regional Electronics and Computer Investigations Unit. An examination revealed a significant quantity of CSAM, including material depicting infants and toddlers. Detectives have confirmed that none of the children depicted were housed at the residence or are believed to be local. The Clermont County Sheriff’s Office continues to work with NCMEC and ICAC to identify the victims.
Wiederhold cooperated with detectives, admitting the accounts reported to NCMEC belonged to him. He was charged and arrested on August 19th, 2025, by Clermont County deputies without incident on (1) count of Pandering Obscenity Involving a Minor, a felony of the 2nd degree. He has remained incarcerated since that time and is currently being held in the Clermont County Jail without bond for the aforementioned charges.
Wiederhold will appear before Clermont County Common Pleas Judge Anthony Brock on August 27th, at 10:00 am for his arraignment on the additional charges outlined above.
