On October 30th, 2025, Joshua Swope, age 36, of Batavia Township, was indicted by the Clermont County Grand Jury for the following charges:
The Clermont County Sheriff’s Office filed the following charge against Rinear:
On September 5th, 2025, the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office – Investigations Division received a Cyber Tip the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) data system. The tip was reported to NCMEC from communication application Discord.
Detectives immediately began to investigate the tip, which included multiple search warrants to various social media and internet-based accounts. These search warrants uncovered the suspect account had distributed nine videos containing Child Sexual Abuse Materials. These accounts were subsequently linked to Joshua Swope.
On October 29th, 2025, detectives executed a search warrant in the 2600 block of Pleasant Meadows Drive in Batavia Township, where Swope resided. Swope was cooperative with detectives during their interaction.
Detectives have confirmed that none of the children depicted were housed at the residence or are believed to be local. The Clermont County Sheriff’s Office continues to work with NCMEC and ICAC to identify the victims.
Joshua Swope was arrested by the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office without incident and transported to the Clermont County Jail on October 29th, 2025, for (1) count of Pandering Obscenity involving a minor a felony of the 2nd degree. Swope remains incarcerated without bond and is scheduled to appear before Clermont County Common Pleas Court Judge Kevin Miles October 31st, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. for arraignment.
