Archie Helphenstine, age 44, of Batavia Township, was indicted Thursday, October 30^th, 2025,by the Clermont County Grand Jury on:

(14) counts of Pandering Obscenity Involving a Minor or Impaired Person, all felonies of the 2^nd degree.

On Wednesday, July 30^th, 2025, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) forwarded a Cyber Tip to the Clermont County Sheriff's Office. The Cyber Tip was in regard to child sexual abuse material being downloaded to an online account. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the account belonged to an individual identified as Archie Helphenstine, who resides in the 3800 block of Bach Grove Court in Clermont County.

On September 19^th, 2025, Clermont County Sheriff's Office detectives executed a search warrant at Archie Helphenstine’s residence. During the search, detectives seized several electronic devices. Subsequent search warrants to examine the seized electronics yielded images depicting prepubescent children engaged in sexual activity. Helphenstine cooperated with detectives, admitting the accounts reported to NCMEC belonged to him and stated he was downloading them to his online account to free up storage space on his phone.

Detectives have confirmed that none of the children depicted were housed at the residence or are believed to be local. The Clermont County Sheriff’s Office continues to work with NCMEC and ICAC to identify the victims.

Helphenstine was arrested on October 30^th, 2025, with the assistance of the City of Lebanon Police Department without incident. Helphenstine was then transported by Clermont County deputies to the Clermont County Jail. Helphenstine is currently being held without bond. He will appear before Clermont County Common Pleas Judge Kevin Miles on October 31, 2025, at 10:00 am for his arraignment on the charges outlined in the above-described Indictment.
