On December 30th, 2025, a Clermont County Grand Jury returned and indictment for Nicholas Scott, age 21, on the following charges:
On October 31st, 2025, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force forwarded a Cybertip to the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office regarding a victim-reported online exploitation incident that occurred on Snapchat in July 2025.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office immediately initiated an investigation and identified the victim as a juvenile residing in Missouri. The victim and guardians were contacted. Detectives learned the victim believed they were communicating with a woman online and sent a nude image to the unknown suspect’s account. The suspect then demanded additional images and videos, threatening to distribute the material to the victim’s friends and family if the demands were not met.
Further investigation revealed the suspect used photos and videos of an adult female to pose as a woman online and solicit explicit material and money from multiple people. The female depicted in the images used by the suspect was identified as a Colorado resident, who was unaware her images were being used without consent.
Account and IP address information associated with the suspect account were traced to a residence in the 2600 block of Bethel Maple Road in Tate Township, Clermont County, Ohio, where Scott resided. On December 26, 2025, a search warrant was executed at Scott’s residence. Scott was cooperative throughout the investigation and voluntarily provided a statement, during which he accepted responsibility and confirmed that no local victims were involved.
The Clermont County Sheriff’s Office continues to work with NCMEC and ICAC to identify any additional victims.
Nicholas Scott was arrested by the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office without incident and transported to the Clermont County Jail on December 26th, 2025. At that time, he was charged through Clermont County Municipal Court for Dissemination of an Image of Another Person and Extortion, both felonies of the 2nd degree. He has remained incarcerated since that date on a $100,000 cash or surety bond but now is being held without bond on additional charges.
Scott is scheduled to appear before Clermont County Common Pleas Court Judge Victor Haddad on January 31, 2025, at 10 a.m. for his arraignment on the above-referenced charges.
